Serums are one part of my skincare that I seem to chop and change the most. Cleansers…I have a handful of favourite ones and I generally use the same moisturiser but serums are a bit of a weakness of mine and I try various ones. I tend to rotate serums so as much as I have a few open at any one time, I will rotate them. The Clarins Double Serum is definitely a #carolinehironsmademedoit product (surprise surprise!) and when I saw it in Duty Free on my way to New York in November, I had to pick it up!
Clarins Double Serum contains 21 active plant extracts including Tumeric which is hailed for it’s protective, healing and anti-inflamatory properties. This concentrated formula is suitable for all skin types and aims to help tackle multiple signs of ageing leading to firmer, more radiant skin….who doesn’t want that right?
Clarins claim the benefits to be:
- The skin is firmed
- Wrinkles are visibly smoothed
- Radiance and evenness are restored to the complexion
- Pores are diminished
The dual sided bottle contains hydric (water soluble) and lipid (oil soluble) parts of the serum which are mixed together in the dispenser to then be applied to the skin. This keeps the concentration of the ingredients at their maximum for as long as possible.
You can choose how much serum you want via the adjustable dispenser depending on your skin type and perhaps the time of year. During the summer when my skin is a bit oilier, I prefer to use one pump, but found in the winter that using the extra amount was good for my skin.
So now I’ve finished this bottle…what do I think?
I absolutely love it! I was using this in rotation with my other serums and decided a few weeks ago to use in continuously every morning and some evenings. It has worked well with other products and hasn’t caused any issues such as pilling. Thanks to the dual parts, despite having an oily side to it, it is far from oily when applied to the skin and is absorbed well. I do believe this has really helped to brighten my skin and has certainly helped with the fine lines I was developing on my forehead!!
Would I repurchase?
I already have! On my way to Iceland in January I had to take advantage of Duty free again 🙂

I used this when it first came out… I’ve no idea why I haven’t bought it again, but now that you’ve reminded me, I’ll definitely be stocking up at duty free like you!

I don’t consistently use a serum, I really should as I’m sure my skin will thank me for it. I often overlook Clarins as a brand so I really must go and try a few of their products.
