Anastasia Beverley Hills

Another New York Haul

I decided to split the New York Haul between three posts as I did quite a lot of shopping!  Having just posted my Bath & Body Works NYC – Haul I thought I would now add hauls from my shopping day other than Sephora…I visited a few of those so it deserves it’s own post!

Glossier

Glossier was on my list for shops to get to and see what all of the hype is about!  The brand were actually launching in the UK the day of my return home but it had to be done anyway!!  We somehow managed to miss the huge ‘GLOSSIER’ sign that was on the wall of the building and walked straight past initially!  Having finally found it, we walked into what looked like an office block (I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this! Haha!).  We were told to take the lift to the top floor.   There were other people in the lift that were going to floors 1 and 2 which when we reached those floors, it felt very very strange as the doors had opened into what was essentially their office!  The top floor housed the ‘showroom’ where Glossier products were on display around the room for us to try at leisure.  I knew I wanted the Milk Jelly Cleanser after reading about it on Caroline Hirons website so yet another #carolinehironsmademedoit product!

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser

The other item I went for was the Boy Brow.  I bought two shades, Brown and Clear as I usually swap between my current Benefit Gimmebrow and a brow pencil and clear gel so thought I’d go for both of them.

Macy’s

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Beverley Hills

One brand that I have fallen in love with over their eyeshadows is Anastasia Beverly Hills after getting their Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette but as with most other palettes I have, the highlight shade is one that is used more than any other.  Tempera from the Modern Renaissance palette isn’t a shade I could buy as a single so I picked up a similar shade in ‘Fresh’…ok I actually bought two!  I also bought the Brow Wizz which is a soft brow pencil with a spoolie on the other end.  This seems similar to the Mac Automatic eyebrow pencil that I use at the moment but I will compare the two and let you know what I think.  Lastly I wanted to try one of their Liquid Lipsticks so I picked the shade ‘Metallic Rose’ which I haven’t used yet but will swatch it soon.

NARS

Nars Exhibit A Blusher

I love Nars products and their blushers are fabulous!  I have two already called ‘Orgasm’ and ‘Deep Throat’ …. so adding ‘Exhibit A’ was probably the more normal of the names! Haha!  I’ve had my eye on this blusher for so long and have swatched it in the past knowing I really wanted it so the perfect time to buy it was of course on a shopping spree in New York!  Despite being a super bright red it doesn’t apply like it shows in the pan.  When applied with a very light hand this blush is absolutely gorgeous!  I used this for a recent dance competition and as I was tanned for the competition, I was able to perhaps apply slightly more but even for day to to day makeup, this blush would compliment any skin tone wonderfully well…it’s all down to how it is applied.  Start light and build slowly.  I really should note this is a definite #waynegossmademedoit product.  Since watching his YouTube videos I have had this on my wishlist!  (Huge thanks to Jess for reminding me of that!!)

Nars Matte Concealer

Having been a fan of the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer I was keen to try this when it was released but in a bid to use up makeup I already had, I put off buying it until now.  I have run out of the previous one so decided to buy this….which I will try as soon as my Makeup Forever HD concealer (which I love!) runs out.  It is said to blur, smooth and conceal imperfections so I have high hopes for this Soft Matte Complete Concealer.

Elf Cosmetics

Elf Cosmetics

Elf Cosmetics were in a small shop underneath the hotel that we were staying in so I had to pop in!  I only picked up a few things in here which were Shine Eraser sheets…I’ve used a few different brands of these over the years so thought I would give these a go.  I also picked up a couple of Pop of Glitter Gels in ‘Twinkle Pink’ and ‘Turquoise Twilight’.  These glitter gels can be used anywhere as a highlight and I found the Twinkle Pink shade great to use a tiny tap of under my eyebrow for my dance competition last weekend.

Duane Reade

Coty

Airspun Loose Face Powder

The Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder was on my list as a ‘drugstore’ item I really wanted to pick up.  I think this was around $7 so a great price for a huge pot of loose powder.  I have started using this and really like it so far.  It has quite a floral scent to it which I thought was a little bizarre to begin with but I’m really liking it!

Milani

Milani Blush

I couldn’t resist this ‘Coral Cove’ blush!!  Such a pretty pinky coral shade which with such a beautiful emboss to the surface making it so difficult to actually use it! Haha!!  I’ll get over that and get it swatched soon!

Have you tried any of these?
