January Empties

Wow, where on earth did January go?  My last post was almost a month ago!!  So much has happened since then, that despite intending to write blog posts as the month was happening, it proved almost impossible!  So, I thought I would work the month backwards and start off with the Empties post as it’s relatively short and sweet!  This will be followed by everything else I have been up to including my career change, training and a holiday!

First things first, here are the products I used in January…..

January Empties

Benefit Maybe Baby

Benefit Maybe Baby

I got this rich body cream in a Benefit set along with their Maybe Baby perfume which I absolutely LOVE!  A sweet but not too sickly sweet, delicate fragrance which is just divine in my opinion!  The body cream is lovely and smooth and leaves a hint of a scent on the skin after application.  The scent is not as evident as using the perfume but makes for great layering to help the fragrance last longer.  As with all body lotions and creams, I apply straight after stepping out of the bath or shower onto wet skin to help lock moisture in.  It is absorbed quite quickly but being a thicker texture than say a lotion, it doesn’t just sink straight in but neither does it stay sitting on the skin for too long….I think it’s just right!  Haha!

Would I repurchase?

I would repurchase based on the texture and scent.  I am however rubbish at remembering to use body lotions and creams so it takes me so long to use them up!  I have so many at the moment I daren’t buy this again just yet but I would recommend it!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

This is not the first time this has appeared in my empties posts as I love this scrub.  The scent of the lime is so fresh in the shower it’s lovely!  I use this regularly for body exfoliation especially before a fake tan application and then around a week after the tan when I want to just get rid of the remaining traces.  It leaves my skin super smooth after buffing away dead skin cells and it smells amazing!

Would I repurchase?

Yes….I haven’t yet but it is on my shopping list for the weekend!

Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme

Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme

I have been using this on and off along side other eye creams so it is difficult to give a complete opinion on the results using this on a continuous basis however it is a lovely light cream which is great for applying makeup over.  It doesn’t interfere with concealer and seems to work really well as a base thanks to the texture.   I got this as part of the Cult Beauty x Caroline Hirons box as featured in this post:  Unboxing! Cult Beauty Box by Caroline Hirons.

Would I repurchase?

Whilst this is lovely, light and hydrating, the £86 price tag does put me off on a personal level.  However if this is within budget then go for it!

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser

I bought this in New York at the Glossier showroom following the hype of this being a ‘must have’ product!  It didn’t disappoint!  I have been using this as a morning cleanse and I love it.  The smell is a bit odd but that’s because there aren’t any nasties in it masking the smell…..it’s not at all off putting and doesn’t last once rinsed off so don’t let that put you off using it!  It is a light cleanser that refreshes my skin in the morning. I rinse off with a flannel and continue with my routine.  It is in no way stripping or drying so perfect for, at a guess, all skin types!

Would I repurchase?

Yes…I will.  I have other cleansers at the moment that have also been repurchases but this will make it’s way back into rotation as I love it!

Urban Decay Razor Sharp Eyeliner

Urban Decay Razor Sharp Eyeliners

I have used these eyeliners for a couple of years now, mostly the shade Perversion (Black).  I also use the shade Bump (white) for double lining a wing when I do my dance competition makeup.  The ultra thin brush lends itself to controlled application and it lasts ALL day!  I can apply these at 6am, spend the day at a competition and it will still be there and just as vivid when I get home at 10pm!  I can highly recommend these!

Would I repurchase?

Yes…again, they are on my shopping list for the weekend!

The Ordinary Serums

The Ordinary, Buffet, Hyaluronic Acid

I have mentioned The Ordinary in many posts so I won’t go on too much about what these serums do but please do check out my other posts that include these serums as they are super affordable and are very effective!

Would I repurchase?

Yes…I already have Buffet and am about to order the Hyaluronic!

See these posts for more information on these and other Ordinary products…..

The Ordinary Skincare and The Ordinary…..a few months on…

Lovely post! I need to try that Glossier cleanser, everyone seems to be talking about it at the minute. Also I really can’t wait for summer so i can start using the Soap and Glory scrub again, it’s my absolute fave and is such a summer essential for me. X
