August Empties

My August empties are slightly split as I’m including some empties used up whilst I was on holiday but I left them in the hotel bin rather than bringing empties home with me!

The empties used up at home are:

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

This is no new product to my blog or to my empties posts! This Oskia Renaissance Cleansing gel is one of my absolute favourite morning cleansers. It is a gel consistency that is really lightweight on the skin and leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. It smells amazing too! I would definitely buy this again and I have repurchased a number of times now. I have other cleansers to use from my stash but this will be on the to-buy list when I run out of morning cleansers!

Hylamide Sub Q Eyes

This eye serum has also featured in an empties post before. It is a very thin consistency but a little goes a long way. I’ve enjoyed using this serum but sometimes felt that I needed to add something more over the top. That said it wasn’t drying in any way. I don’t have many issues with my under eye area other than the skin can be a bit dry so in terms of it’s anti-ageing properties I can’t really comment. I would however say that if you’re looking for something that doesn’t sit too heavy under the eyes like some creams can, this is definitely worth trying.

Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream

I never used to wear a night cream until I received this in the 2017 Beauty Advent Calendar from M&S. Since then it’s been something I use on a regular basis … including right now as I’m writing this blog, I’m staying up late but I’ve done my skincare which was finished with this (but from my usual pot of it). The 2018 calendar which was gifted by M&S also contained this so I took it on holiday with me. I used a few different things on holiday so only opened this during the last few days which meant I brought it back home with me to finish using. I would and have repurchased this and will continue to do so. It’s a lovely rich night cream that is well absorbed and leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and nourished.

Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish

I got this in a set with a hydrating spray and lip balm and have to say I’ve loved all three items. This body polish leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and without needing to apply an additional body lotion when stepping out of the shower. It smells amazing and I would certainly repurchase!

The Ordinary Buffet with Copper Peptides

The Ordinary is a brand that is nothing new to my blog as I’ve been using various products from the Deciem brand for over two years now. The original Buffet anti-ageing serum was one of the first things that I ordered and loved for helping with my fine lines on my forehead. Fast forward to it’s big brother with the addition of Copper Peptides and we have a new serum to play with! The formulation is said to ‘penetrate the dermis to figure out cell imbalances and help them communicate better, helping out wherever your skin is struggling, improving textural damage, battling blemishes, evening out tone and restoring youthful radiance.’ If you’ve ever used the NIOD CAIS serum, you would recognise the ‘vinegar’ smell from this product but that soon dissipates. I enjoyed using this serum and would purchase it again but have other similar serums to use from my stash! For more reviews and all things Deciem head to The Ordinary & Deciem Chatroom on Facebook.

Holiday Empties

Holiday Empties

As mentioned earlier in the post, I had some empties that I left in the hotel room bin rather than bring them home! These were all deluxe sample or travel sizes so I’ll briefly tell you about them.

Clinique Smart Moisturiser … this was thicker than I would usually use for a day cream but it actually worked really well! It was super hydrating, easily absorbed and didn’t leave my face feeling like I was wearing a heavy cream. I need to clarify though, this cream isn’t ‘heavy’ … it’s just not as light as the gel-cream consistency I’m used to with Moisture Surge! I would use this again!

Clarins Re-Move Gel Cleanser … a travel sample size from a Clarins event back in March for the launch of this new range. It was a nice cleanser to use, didn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or anything. I don’t think I would repurchase this purely because I favour other cleansers however this is a good cleanser.

Maria Nila Silver Shampoo & Conditioner … having had my hair coloured for a while now I’ve been keen to look after it! Having blonde balayage requires shampoos to keep the redness out and this little duo have done a great job at that. I have a preference with another set by Maria Nila so won’t be buying this exact one again but their products are really lovely to use and are free from nasties so will be continuing to buy them.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask … I got a couple of these from Sephora in New York using my VIB points and I’ve loved it. I wanted to take a mask with me that was exfoliating but not harsh because I was in Florida and didn’t want to risk damaging my moisture barrier and being exposed to the sun in 34oC heat! This mask did a great job to give my skin that extra something given I’d been wearing SPF all day long every day and on top of that, my skin feeling generally yuk from sweating too! I would repurchase this mask.
