I can’t believe we are already half way through July … only three more weeks until my holiday and I literally cannot wait!!!! June and July have been pretty busy months especially work wise so with a quiet week this week I’m hoping to get caught up on some blog work!! Here’s the products that I used up during June … not as many as usual so a much quicker post that normal! The box for July has already started to fill up though.
This post is also on YouTube … the link can be found at the end of this post!
Clinique Moisture Surge
I’ve used this moisturiser for around 4 years now and I absolutely love it. It’s been featured in plenty of other empties posts and continues to be in my daily morning routine. It is a lightweight gel-creme formula that sinks into my skin really well and works great with all other skincare items that I use. I would and have repurchase this … in fact I’m aiming to buy the bigger version in duty free in a few weeks 🙂
Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser
This 30ml travel size version of this cleanser was part of a set that my Sister gave to me, which was lovely as I’d been wanting to try anything from Drunk Elephant given the hype that surrounds their products! I used this cleanser as a morning cleanse or a second evening cleanse and I loved it. The gel cleanser left my skin feeling clean and fresh without feeling stripped which was great. I applied it to dry skin, added water to lather it up and then removed it with a wet flannel. I would definitely repurchase this cleanser.
Hourglass Caution Extreme Mascara
I had high hopes for this mascara and generally speaking it didn’t disappoint … not completely anyway! Just one coat of this mascara is really good. Good to add length and volume to lashes. When I was looking at this mascara in SpaceNK I was told by someone that any more than one coat and it goes a bit clumpy. I don’t tend to layer too much mascara so thought it would be fine. One coat is fine, two or more and it does begin to clump up. I don’t think I would buy this again, especially given the price. It’s too much hard work!!
Bionsen Mineral Protective Deoderant
I’m always on the lookout for deodorants that don’t contain aluminium, parabens and other nasties and actually work. This one seems to tick all of the boxes and it smells really nice too. My main issue with this however is that the nozzle seemed to block up non stop which I found annoying (and I’ve had a few tins of this that have done the same) and as much as it does work … it doesn’t last as long as I’d like it to so for me this is a no to repurchase.
Both of these pencils have been great brow pencils! The Brunette Mac Brow Pencil is a great shade for me and it’s whilst I like the fact it is a soft pencil so blends well, it’s also slightly too soft and did break a few times so I was very careful with how far I twisted it up. The Anastasia Beverly Hills pencil was also soft but didn’t break so out of the two, this was the better one however I would repurchase both of these. I also have the Mac pencil in the shade Spiked in my pro-kit and am considering getting that shade for me next time!
Perfume Sample Selection
I’ve been on a mission to use up the fragrance samples that I seem to have accumulated a collection of! The ones I used up in June were: Dior J’adore, Dior Poison, Mon Guerlain, Dior Miss Dior, Tiffany & Co, Black Opium, Jimmy Choo, Chanel Gabrielle & Viktor and Rolf Spice Bomb. Fragrance is individual so I can only say that I loved all of these fragrances but for the Spice Bomb. I love sweet and summery fragrances but this really was ‘spiced’ and really not to my taste at all … a total contrast to one of my absolute favourite perfumes which is also Viktor & Rolf … Flowebomb. I would wear all of the other scents bar that one!
So that’s the list of June empties … as I say, July’s post is already looking much busier!
