Space NK x Caroline Hirons Clean Decoded Box – Unboxing

If you’ve read my blog or followed my Instagram for a while, you’ll know that I am a Caroline Hirons fan …or ‘Freak’ as is kindly referred to on her Skincare Freaks Facebook Page!  Her skincare suggestions on her blog and on Youtube have undoubtedly helped my skin no end with the introduction of oils and double cleansing and the removal of foaming cleansers and alcohol based toners!   I won’t say that I buy every product that Caroline ever suggests – lets face it my bank wouldn’t allow it, but a lot of my skincare routine is based around her general advice.  (She’s also the reason I freak out when someone tells me they use wipes to clean their face!)  Collaborative boxes always peak my interest as has been seen before on here with my purchases of the last two Cult Beauty Boxes.

The new release is with Space NK goes a bit further than containing some of Caroline’s favourites.  The campaign behind this is ‘Clean Decoded’ which enables us to understand more about products and their ingredients.  Space NK defined this as:

Clean beauty, to us, refers to any formulation that is free from a list of potentially harmful and irritating ingredients, and instead uses a combination of plants, vitamins, minerals, and botanical extracts to help restore skin to its optimum health and vitality. Clean also refers to products and brands that showcase a concerted effort to manufacture more consciously, whether it be recycled packaging or sustainable ingredients.

So…what’s in the box?

• REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream (50ml – full size)

I had a sample version of this moisturiser which I took on holiday to Spain with me at the beginning of the month.  It is a hydrating, rich day cream – when I say rich, I’m comparing to my every day moisturiser Clinique Moisture Surge which is incredibly light so this texture is one I’m simply not used to.  That isn’t however necessarily a bad thing as my skin seems to love it!

• Odacité Po+R Hydration Serum Concentrate (5ml – full size)

Pomegranate, Rose Geranium and Vitamin E … this serum sounds like it will be great!  I haven’t used it yet as I have other serums open.  It is said to be good for hydration, reducing inflammation and the added benefit of Rose Geranium being great for lifting your mood…I can’t wait to try it!!

• Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (35ml)

If you have seen my skincare routine, you’ll see I use this every day!  I started using this last year and have since replaced the full size twice and am now on a supersize bottle.  To have this in the box was great as it saved me taking my full size on holiday yet there’s plenty left in there after using it for the week I was away.  I cannot recommend this cleanser enough.  It’s a perfect morning cleanser (or PM second cleanser) and leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean.  It smells amazing too!

• Herbivore Phoenix Regenerating Facial Oil (8ml)

As with the Odacité serum, I have other oils open at the moment but the ingredients in this facial oil are amazing so I can’t wait to try it!  They include: Rosehip Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil, CoQ10, Chia Seed Co2, Meadowfoam Oil and Neroli Oil!  I have high hopes for this one!

• Soleil Toujours 100% Mineral Sunscreen Glow SPF30 (35.5ml)

Another reason that I was so happy this arrived prior to going on holiday!  I wanted to try a new SPF and being tinted, I wasn’t sure how well this would work on my skin as I find a lot of ‘tinted’ products look orange on me.  This was perfect!  It didn’t give a coverage as if I was wearing a foundation, just a subtle hint that really took the edge off my morning face! Haha!  It left my skin feeling hydrated and with a lovely glow.  On holiday this was the only base I wore during the day, I didn’t feel the need for foundation however it sat well under foundation that I wore in the evening!  Im absolutely loving it!

• Cover FX Blurring Primer (30ml)

I haven’t tried this one yet but with the apparent ability to diffuse imperfections, this could fast become a favourite.  I will report back!!

• Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light (1.4g)

How cute are these mini Hourglass powders??  I first used the Ambient Lighting powders in a palette of three and my preference of the three, and the one that I used up completely was Dim Light.  I loved it so much that I bought the full size.  Having a mini handbag size however is just perfection in a compact!

• Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask (7.5ml)

I took this mask on holiday with me mainly because I decided not to take my usual acid exfoliators with me but wanted something I could perhaps use just once of twice whilst I was away.   Pink French Clay and Pomegranate enzymes make this mask one that helps to get rid of impurities and reveal more glowing skin.  I loved the feel of my skin after using this!

• Mauli Supreme Skin Face Serum (15ml)

This antioxidant serum is one I haven’t tried yet purely because I am using other serums so don’t want too many open!  That said with ingredients such as argan oil, sweet almond, calendula, watermelon seed, black seed and moringa I am desperate to use up the serums I have open!!  Haha!

These boxes are worth over £200 and are on sale at Space NK online and in store for £95!

I loved the sound of this box and having had a quick scan the only reason I didn’t invest was because I had a few of the products. However I now feel I do need this in my life as there are too many other great sounding products in there to miss out on! I really like the sound of the Soleil Toujours, I love a good SPF product. Great post x
