Scienea Super Fruit Serum

A couple of months ago I read a post by the lovely Samantha at The Beauty Spyglass on a Super Fruit Serum by Scienea that she had won on Instagram.  It sounded amazing and in a reply to my comment on her blog, Samantha told me to check them out on Twitter as she thought they were running another competition on there!   So….I looked them up and entered their competition to win a serum ….. (You probably know where I’m going with this!) yep, I won!

I’ve mentioned a few times on my blog that I have an oily / combination skin type and used to avoid any kind of oils or serums through fear they would make my skin worse.  The reverse is actually true and as I have found more recently, adding oils and serums into my skincare routine has helped my skin drastically.  In stripping my skin of oils I was likely making it worse.  That said, where I wasn’t using anything to add hydration to my skin, I would also say it is a bit on the dehydrated side which is why the addition of moisture boosting products has helped.

The smoothing action of this natural skin lifting formula penetrates deep into the skin to give its natural defences a boost. Clinically proven to enhance skin density and firmness and to visibly reduce the wrinkled appearance of skin, including ‘crows feet’. Starts working from the first application to help fight the signs of ageing and restore a youthful complexion.

Scienea

Scienea use natural ingredients in their serums that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants to help restore and repair skin.  This in itself is something I love because using something that doesn’t have alcohol, harsh chemicals, parabens etc is great!

The active ingredients are: Marula Oil, Pomegrante Oil, Apricot Oil, Squalene, Rosehip Oil, Sunflower, Flax Seed Oil, Gold Of Pleasure Oil, Rasberry Oil, Pumpkin  Oil,Borage Oil, , Strawberry Oil, Acai Berry Seed Oil, Prickly Pear Oil, Spilanthes extract, Green Rooibos, Black tea extract, White Tea Extract, Rose Oil, Fennel Oil, Lemon Myrtle Oil, Palmarosa Oil.

The serum has an oily texture so is something I am only using at nighttime but it is great for facial massage and the scent is wonderful so makes for great relaxation!  It fits in well with my other skin care routine and I’ve had no pilling or issues when using it under a night-time moisturiser.  As I use a range of products and rotate them, I can’t comment on the long term use of the serum but when I do use it, my skin does feel soft and hydrated.

Have you tried Scienea serums?
