The beauty advent calendar is almost at an end 😦 (and this post is a day late!)….day 22 of the M&S calendar is:
Autograph Hydrating Confidence Boost Primer
I usually opt for mattifying primers so I am interested to see what this is like. Looking at the ingredients this is a silicone based primer so I am guessing it will work well with any of the foundations that I have. I have just used the last of my silicone primer from The Ordinary so I am keen to compare these.
On just testing it on my hand, the consistency isn’t what I expected! A lot of silicone primers that I have used, especially this last one from The Ordinary have been relatively thick in consistency. This isn’t at all runny by any means, it’s just not as thick as I was expecting it to be so the usual silicone texture isn’t quite as obvious as som, which can be a good thing to those who don’t like that feel on their skin. It is completely clear in colour so is invisible on the skin. It contains aloe and cucumber so I could imagine this to be soothing. Hypoallergenic, fragrance free and paraben free are all ticks in my book. It does claim to be for ‘normal’ skin types so I am not 100% sure how I will fair with this being more oily/combination but as I’ve said before, Winter is the best time for me to try things like this as my skin does tend to need more hydration and is is more on the ‘normal’ side.
The 30ml primer is £12.50 making this 15ml trial size £6.25.
I will review this as soon as I have used it under makeup so I can comment on whether it helped my makeup stay in place.
What is your current primer?
