This post is obviously very very late! Haha! I thought I would kick my blog posts back off with this because it’s about time really!!
So here are my September empties:
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
I visited a NARS counter last year in London expecting to get a sample of a matte foundation purely because those are the foundations that I am used to. I have oily / combination skin so the more matte a product is…the better! (Or so I thought at the time!) I was introduced to the Sheer Glow foundation and was told to just give it a go as I would be surprised! The word ‘glow’ isn’t really something that I am attracted to, probably because I have always associated ‘glow’ with ‘oily’ looking…rightly or wrongly! I was under no pressure to buy it and was given a sample to try. I subsequently bought it online!
I have loved this foundation…it is lightweight and blendable. The finish is not too dewy, but more of a natural look which I love. This foundation is probably responsible for me being open to try other foundations that claim to have a ‘dewy’ or ‘natural’ finish to them!
Would I repurchase?
Yes! I would…I haven’t purely because I am being a bit of a makeup tourist at the moment and am trying all different products but this will be back in my makeup kit at some point!
Mac Lip Conditioner
This has been a staple in my kit since I bought it just over two years ago at a Mac store in Florida when I was on holiday. It has a vaseline type of texture but is quite lightweight on the lips. I used this before going to bed or at the start of a makeup routine to soften my lips. I do suffer from quite dry lips but have a love of matte lipsticks which I have to say, can look awful on me if I haven’t used some kind of lip blam or treatment beforehand!
Would I repurchase?
Yes. Again I haven’t yet as I have others that are similar but this is something I can highly recommend.
Ted Baker Woman EDT
I have said before in my posts that fragrance is a very personal thing and buying for someone else can be quite tricky. That said a friend of mine gave me a set of these very cute mini Ted Bake perfumes for my birthday last year and I have loved all of them. This particular one is very feminine, floral and sweet but not sickly sweet at all. Very lovely fragrance.
Would I repurchase?
Yes, this is a scent that I have enjoyed wearing and still have the little bottle as I think the packaging is cute also! Very pretty fragrance.
Rodial Super Acids X-treme Acid Rush Peel
This peel was in my M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2016 and having never used a peel before I was quite apprehensive in using it for the first time but as you may have read before, I really liked this. Super gentle yet very effective. It contains azelaic, glycolic, lactic and fruit acids and really helps with the look and feel of the skin.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I haven’t yet, as above, I just have other products that I am using but this is on my repurchase list.
UltraSun Face SPF30
I received this in my M&S advent calendar last year. I have recently (pretty much since the start of the year) aimed to up my SPF usage as I was awful for not wearing it here in UK but would wear it on holiday. Skin is exposed to the sun all year round, levels of required SPF do differ throughout the year but this SPF30 is perfect for all year round usage.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. This is a good SPF, doesn’t ball up as some SPF creams have done in the past and also despite being a white cream, does not leave a white cast on the skin which is a huge plus when you’re already pasty white!! Haha!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gelee Milk Cleanser
Hydro Boost Gelee Milk is part of a range by Neutrogena that is all about skin hydration. Skin can be dry, oily, combination etc but whatever your skin is, it can still be dehydrated…requiring water! Drinking water is the single best way to hydrate your skin from the inside but this Hydro Boost cleanser is a fabulous cleanser that removes make up when used as a first cleanse or really refreshes the senses when used as a morning cleanse. It smells amazing (which really shouldn’t come into it as that doesn’t link to how well a product works!!), is exceptionally lightweight and cleans my skin really well.
Would I repurchase?
Yes! This is on my shopping list! I highly recommend this!
That’s all of the empties for September. Have you used any of these? I’d love to know your thoughts.

I’ve always wanted to try Nars Sheer Glow but I need very heavy coverage foundations and I’ve always been worried that it wouldn’t do the job x

In fairness I’ve always thought the same, that I would need more coverage. It is only a medium coverage but I’d say if you’re near a NARS counter and want to try it, get a sample first. I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way by buying foundations just on the say so of the ‘expert’ on the counter or even bought online…..I always fail! Samples are a must! xxx

Ooooh that cleanser sounds so nice. I’ve tried the moisturizer from the range, but never considered trying out the cleanser-definitely gonna pick that up! Loved reading this x

Thanks for reading 🙂 The cleanser is so nice and given my skin type I didn’t expect it to be any good. I can highly recommend it. (Also you don’t need to wash it off…I do, but it can be wiped off with cotton wool if you’re traveling for example) xx

It’s a great one for during the day. I have to use a setting powder with it but it lasts really well xx

Love the sounds of the Nars foundation! I always use powder to set my foundation anyway so sometimes it can look dry (even though I’m oily). Might be better to use a more dewy foundation!

Yes that’s what I’ve found, it’s a lighter foundation than something I’d usually use for my skin like Estée Lauder double wear (which I do still use) but with powder, it still looks nice 💕

It is more of a premium brand but they do have foundation sample bottles that are pretty cute!
