Day 3 of the #Makeupmusthaveschallenge is ‘Palette’.  I can’t say I have 1 favourite palette and am ALWAYS tempted with new ones!   The challenge doesn’t specify ‘Favourite’ so I’m taking that as a free-for-all to talk about all of my palettes  🙂

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

These powders from Hourglass are amazing.  If you haven’t used an Ambient Lighting Powder before, they act like filters and are said to capture, diffuse and soften the way light reflects on the skin.  I find that they’re not only great on top of liquid makeup, but they don’t have any cakey effect when applied over another powder.

Dim light is the one I use the most as this is a lovely neutral shade that blurs imperfections.  It is a lovely soft finishing powder over whatever makeup I have underneath.

Incandescent light gives a lovely highlight so I use this on my cheekbones, down my nose and cupids bow.

Radiant light is a subtle warm bronze colour that I use as a bronzer for contouring.

The trio here is perfect for anyone whether you want to add some depth to contouring and highlighting or whether you want to have a very subtle contour and highlight, these are suitable for anyone.  It also gives you a chance to try a selection of the powders that are available in full size.  If I was to buy a full size, it would be dim light as I use that the most.

My other palettes are eyeshadows from Urban Decay.  Smoky, Ultimate Basics and Full Spectrum.  My favourite is down to the look I am going for as they contain quite different colours and shade ranges!  A mix of matte and shimmer shades….so many looks are possible!

Finally the new palette that I own is from my Estee Lauder bargain as I blogged about yesterday click here for link if you haven’t seen it!

16 eyeshadows and 3 blushers form part of Estee Lauder’s Artistry Collection.  The space at the bottom of the palette also holds their full size lip gloss (2 came in part of my bargain!) so perfect for travel.

All of these palettes are great!  I haven’t used the Estee Lauder one yet but all previous makeup that I have used from Estee Lauder has been of a high quality with a great colour payoff so I don’t expect any less from this one.
