Eco-friendly, zero waste packaging, reusable, bio-degradable … all words that are great to see right? Using products that fit with those descriptions contribute towards reducing single-use plastic and in turn reduce the effects plastic has on the planet. The guys at the UK brand MadeEco kindly sent me a set of their reusable cleansing pads to try.
MadeEco is a UK eco-friendly lifestyle brand created to provide high quality and fairly priced products which promote plastic-free living. Each of the MadeEco products have been designed to reduce single use plastic and are also packaged in zero waste packaging in keeping with this. There’s no better time to make the switch, choose the natural alternative today for a better tomorrow.

The set contained 20 cleansing pads. 10 bamboo terry pads for everyday makeup removal which are gently exfoliating, 5 bamboo velour pads which are super smooth for extra sensitive areas of the skin and 5 bamboo charcoal pads for removing darker makeup, natural exfoliation and removal of skin impurities. It also includes a 100% cotton mesh wash bag, a super soft terry face cloth and a box of bamboo and organic cotton buds.

The pads are soft and easy to use. I used them to remove my makeup with my usual makeup remover and they’re super gentle to use around my eyes. I have used reusable pads previously and found they have been rough around my eyes (even after a few washes) but these were totally the opposite. To test these out I also added some of them to my pro makeup kit to use when cleansing a client’s skin and she commented on how soft they were on her skin, so much so she felt she was having a facial! The pads were then popped into the bag that comes in the kit, and they go in the wash with my towels. I did find that foundation from makeup removal did stain a couple of the white ones but I kind of expected that with white pads! I also found that I needed to make sure the bag was securely tied up or they ended up around my washing machine!
The bamboo terry face cloth is probably the softest face cloth I have … and I have a lot of face cloths as I use one every day. I love the feel of this on my face and it effectively removes cleanser from my skin without any dragging.
Bamboo cotton buds … how many of us have seen the sad image of a Seahorse clinging onto a plastic cotton bud? Horrible isn’t it? These however are made from sustainable bamboo and organic cotton … biodegradable … much better! I have put some of these into my kit too as they’re handy to clean up small makeup mistakes.

If you’re thinking of trying reusable cotton pads, definitely give these a go! You can find out more at www.made-eco.co.uk

Love the look of these! I ordered some reusable pads a while ago but they arrived in lots of plastic packaging which was such a shame. Great post ☺️ x
