Beauty Empties

Empties

Each month for a while now I’ve posted an ‘Empties’ post however I never seem to write it at the end of the month…some months I use loads and have a never-ending post and some I have a few so from now on, this becomes just an ’empties’ post and will be written when I can! Haha!

So here’s my next batch of empties!

Maria Nila Luminous Colour Shampoo & Conditioner

Maria Nila Luminous Colour Shampoo & Conditioner

I won’t say too much about these products as I’m going to feature them in their own blog post … yes I loved them that much! They smell amazing and leave my hair feeling super soft and clean. I will definitely continue to repurchase these!

Boots – Clean Makeup Brush Spot Cleanser

Boots - Clean Makeup Brush Spot Cleanser
Boots – Clean Makeup Brush Spot Cleanser

I use this in my pro-kit as a good on the spot cleanser for my brushes between clients in the same booking. My brushes are always thoroughly cleaned when I’m home but if I have 4 or 5 people to apply makeup to, I need something reliable between each person. (I also use beauty sponges but use a new one for each client in any one booking and they’re thoroughly cleaned at home too). This cleanser does a really good job and does what it says on the tin! I have repurchased this.

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer NC15

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer

Another item from my pro kit but I’d also happily use this on myself is this Mac Pro Longwear Concealer. These concealers are great for good coverage without being heavy or caking up under the eyes. My only gripe with this is the packaging. The pump doesn’t allow for getting the last bit from the bottom of the bottle, probably a good few applications, yet the top does not detach from the bottle so there is some wastage. I think I will buy this again based on how good the concealer is but I’m also tempted to switch it out for something I can get to the bottom of the packaging of!

Autograph Hydrating Confidence Boost Primer

Autograph Hydrating Confidence Boost Primer

I have raved about this primer previously as something I think I first tried in one of M&S Beauty advent calendars and loved it so I bought the full size. It was the first time I had tried and loved a primer that didn’t have a silicone feel to it. This helps provide a smooth base for my makeup to sit on top of and helps to keep it on all day whilst hydrating my skin. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this and am likely to buy one for my kit!

NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist

NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist
NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist

The SDSM spray from NIOD is a different kind of spritz to all others that I use.  I use toners and hydrating sprays but this doesn’t really fall into that category.   It is classed as a ‘Dermal Treatment Mist’ which helps to protect the skin from oxidative stress, dermal water loss and inflammation.  It can be applied to the face and body and as frequently as you like.  I would buy this again and already have another in my skincare stash!

Sol deJaniero Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist

Sol deJaniero Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist

What can I say? This smells AMAZING! I picked this up in Sephora in New York I think it was…alongside the Bum Bum cream which also smelt just as good! This has a real ‘summer holiday’ feel to the scent and doesn’t leave any residue on the skin. Beautiful! I will repurchase this next Summer!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Another empty from my kit … I don’t use this as a cleanser as such but is great to have for cleaning up makeup mistakes or even just getting rid of makeup from the back of my hand. I do tend to use the back of my hand as a palette for lipsticks, foundations and eyeliners so this is an essential in my kit!! I already have another one of these.

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster Vitamin C

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster Vitamin C

This has featured a few times in my empties post and I’ve continued to use this as before, adding it to my routine for a short boost of 10% Vitamin C, then leaving it out until I feel I need it and this works for me. I bought a pack of 4 of these and still have one in my draw. I add this to my moisturiser both morning and night and have found it improves my skin … it seems brighter, more even and has certainly helped with pigmentation issues I seem to get on my forehead! I’ve also found this to be a great product to use in the same routine as The Ordinary Azelaic Acid … a power couple indeed! The formulation and packaging allow for keeping the stability of the Vitamin C for as long as possible.

REN Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash

I received the Summer Beauty Box from M&S (Gifted by PR for review) and it contained this bottle of REN Body Wash. It smells amazing, lathers up well and leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean. Loved it! I would purchase this again.

Maria Nila Sheer Silver Shampoo

Maria Nila Sheer Silver Shampoo

I bought this for my holiday as I had been using the Luminous Colour version of the Maria Nila Shampoo but wanted to keep the blonde in my balayage looking vibrant whilst I was away so opted for this travel size. I have to say, I won’t be repurchasing this. I’m not sure why it was so different in my hair but it left my hair feeling ‘lank’ and for some reason quite matted despite using the conditioner also. Not one for me I’m afraid!

Ultrasun SPF30 Face

Another product from the M&S Summer Beauty box was this Ultrasun SPF30 which I think I had tried in a previous box or advent calendar. This is one that I thought I would hate as it’s a thick cream which during the day I do avoid. That said this has been one of the best face SPFs I have ever tried. It doesn’t pill up and sits nicely under makeup. It doesn’t leave a white cast which again is a huge bonus! I would absolutely buy this again.

Colour WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray

WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray
Colour WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray

This was in the 2018 Summer Beauty Box and I actually forgot I had it until more recently. As soon as I started to use it I loved it! I use it straight after washing my hair prior to blow drying and my hair feels silky soft and smooth! I’ve recently replaced this and plan on continuing to do so! Absolute favourite hair styling product!

Kiko Volume Attraction Mascara

Kiko Volume Attraction Mascara

Another kit item for me and I’ve got one for me too. The Kiko Volume Attraction mascara is no stranger to my empties posts I use it that much! It’s a true black mascara and helps with length and volume to lashes. Definitely one of my favourite mascaras, especially for the price and the number of times Kiko has it on offer … one that I will continue to buy!

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser
Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

I am a Pixi fan, there’s no denying that! This cleanser has been great for a morning or second cleanse in the evening. It leaves my skin feeling super clean and fresh. 5% Glycolic Acid yet gentle in formulation making it suitable to continue to use other Glycolic based products after this … i.e Glow Tonic. I haven’t repurchased this yet purely because I’m trying to use up other cleansers in my stash but it’s certainly on the ‘I will buy again’ list!

Clinique Smart Serum

Clinique Smart Serum
Clinique Smart Serum

Clinique Smart serum claims to know what your skin needs based on it’s past!   ”Addresses the appearance of uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, firming, or radiance – For all ages, all ethnicities – Five years of research”.   I haven’t used it long enough to comment on it ‘changing’ my skin but it is a really lovely serum with a smooth texture that when applied feels like it is working … an odd description I know!   I took this on holiday with me and used it morning and night for two weeks and I would like to try it for longer as it felt lovely on my skin. I possibly would buy this at some point but literally have so many other serums I want to try (not forgetting all of the ones in stash!!)

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

My undereye area is generally good apart from being drier than the rest of my skin so when looking for an eye cream I usually look for one that has an aim to hydrate. This did exactly that. Despite being a thicker cream that what I would usually go for during the day this absorbed really well, worked perfectly under my makeup and didn’t cause any concealer issues. I would definitely repurchase this and am likely to add it to my pro kit also.

So that’s everything for now … did you spot any favourites?
