December already, I cannot believe how fast this year has gone!!
November’s empty products are only a handful of items, some of which I have posted about before and a couple of newer ones.
So here’s what I have used up in November…..
Mac Brow Pencil
I first purchased this brow pencil at a Mac counter a year or so ago as I wanted something with a bit more precision than tinted brow gel. Brow gel is great but sometimes I don’t want to do a fuller brow look and merely want to fill in lightly and extend slightly so I asked at the counter and this is what was suggested to me. The colour match is perfect. The first one that I had unfortunately crumbled and broke within the first few uses but Mac Customer Service on the phone were great and sent a replacement out quickly. The colour stays put all day. I tend to use this then apply clear gel over the top. The fine tip makes it a great pencil for infilling or for extending the brows as fine as you want them to be.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I’ve had about three of these so far. I currently don’t have one, purely because I wanted to try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wizz having heard lots about it but I would recommend this Mac pencil and I’m sure I will be buying this again.
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer
I am very very fussy when it comes to concealers! The skin under my eyes is dry unlike the rest of my face which is oily/combo so in the past I have avoided a lot of concealers through fear of creasing and settling into the fine lines. So far the two products that I have found to be fantastic are NARS Radiant Creamy concealer and this by Makeup Forever. It is lightweight but with good coverage. I also find this to be great for brightening the eye area.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I will. Again, I have another concealer at the moment as I am trying the NARS matte concealer but in a bid to be good and use products before buying too many more, this is staying on my LOVE list for when I want a new one!
Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream
Clinique claim that this product will make a visible difference to the eye area within 4 weeks. I have to confess, I use a mixture of products in my skincare routine on rotation which means I don’t necessarily use the same serum, cream or whatever every day or indeed twice a day so I can’t comment on their claim of visible results in 4 weeks. However, what I can comment on is how I found the product on my skin. This is quite a thick eye cream which is fabulous for my under eye area as it left my eye area feeling super hydrated and cared for with a thicker cream. I am dubious about using thicker creams in the morning in case they interfere with makeup application or wear. I can certainly report that it absorbs really well and does not have any negative effect on makeup or cause concealer to breakdown or pill up so I love it. When I use this regularly I find my undereye is soft and hydrated.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I fully intend to repurchase. I am using up other eye creams that I have and am also about to receive a delivery of a NIOD eye serum so this is another cream to add to my LOVE list to repurchase in the future but I can highly recommend it.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I have written about this product previously and have had this in an empties post also. My initial thoughts on this can be found here…..Pixi Glow Tonic….a review 🙂
I use this much more than when I first started as I am not so scared of using acids in my skincare routine now. As this is only 5% glycolic I do go against the suggested instructions and on occasion use this twice a day (just to note, I DO use SPF as acids can increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun). My skin is better than it used to be prior to adding acids into my routine. The issue I have with knowing what product has made the most difference to my skin is that I have made lots of changes and with each change, my skin is better in one way or another but either way I can tell what my skin does or does not like. My skin seems to like acids and this Glycolic toner in particular.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I have repurchased this a few times. Like with everything else in this post so far I actually have a different product in replacement at the moment as I am using the Glycolic 7% from The Ordinary which is a lot cheaper I have to say! I do love this Pixi toner however and wouldn’t not buy it again but because I am using another version I won’t be rushing out to buy it just yet, but would definitely repurchase at some point. It is super gentle on the skin and I can highly recommend this for someone who is just starting out with acid products.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic
I have also written a post about this Rodial Dragon’s Blood toner previously also as this is the second bottle that I have had. It is a hydrating toning mist and I use this following on from my acid toner during my skincare routine. It is a lovely, hydrating spray and is great during the Summer as a cooling mist but also great in Winter for a boost of hydration.
Would I repurchase?
I have to be honest, I do love this, however it is expensive and there are other products out there that I want to try. It is £38.00 and despite lasting quite a long time, there are other products that I am keen to try so this isn’t likely something that I would personally purchase again but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t recommend it if it is within your budget.
That’s all of the empties for November! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments.
