Another cleanser?
Yes another cleanser! I now have 2 different cleansers since I had a bit (ok, more than a bit) of a skin care over-haul! I recently wrote a post on the amazing balm cleanser by Emma Hardie which I cannot get enough of! If you’ve not already seen my thoughts on that then click HERE!
In fairness I had already ordered this cleanser from Space NK before I was tempted by the 20% off at M&S for the Emma Hardie one but at the end of the day, if you cleanse your face every day, twice a day then does it really matter??
What is it?
A deep cleansing facial oil that is suitable for use all over the face including the eye area. It is said to remove all traces of make-up and impurities gently leaving the skin clean, comfortable and soft.
Is that true from my experience?
I can say that with the exception of make-up removal (which is purely because I haven’t used it for this as I have Clinique Take The Day Off Balm for make-up removal) this cleanser is great. It smells devine and almost spa-like as if you were having a facial! My skin feels super soft and clean after I have used it.
How do I use it?
I am new to using cleansing oils, given I have an oilier skin type I am a tad weary when it comes to these types of products so although it suggests 2-3 pumps of the oil, I do only use 2 and find this sufficient to cover my face. I apply it to dry skin as my morning cleanser (I have used it in the evening as a second cleanse also to test it out but I’m likely to go back to Emma Hardie for my evening one…no specific reason, I just love it!) I then take a wet face cloth or muslin cloth to remove it. It can have water added to form a light milk or be rinsed with water but my preference is to use a hot face cloth.
Ingredients?
Omega 6 to target dehydration and boost moisture
Omega 9 to help fight premature aging and protect the skin from environmental damage
Jojoba Oil to moisturise
Meadowfoam Oil which forms a moisture barrier to help combat moisture loss from the skin (I have to admit I haven’t heard of this oil before!)
(Full Ingredient list) Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol
It is free from parabens, mineral oil and other nasties!
Initial Impressions
I really like this cleanser. It is strange how using an oil..or even from using the balms that turn to oil are actually helping my skin! The reason for this for those who don’t know how it works is that by putting oil on the skin, you are making the skin believe it has enough oil and therefore balances out a bit by not over-producing oil that it thinks it needs. It does also smell amazing and quite invigorating for first thing in the morning!
Would I recommend it?
I have only been using if for a few days so this really is an initial impression but so far….Yes! As I have said before, I am oily – combination skin type and it’s strange how my skin has changed for the better adding in more oils to my routine!

Thank you for this review. I don’t know this brand, and don’t know if I can find it in France. Do you know Alpha-H, an australian brand. Their cleansers are great.

Ah thank you! I was thinking that’s a better layout because it’s questions I’d want to know initially anyway. Thanks for reading! If you do try it let me know what you think. Emma Hardie one is amazing too. Balm to oil but it’s soooo good! xx
