Day 2 of my advent calendar was the one product I was most excited about trying!

Rodial Super Acides X-Treme Acid Rush Peel.

I wanted to use this before writing this blog so I could give a review rather than just tell you what I got!  So that’s what I’ve done!  The peel is to be applied to cleansed skin and left on for 10-15 minutes, so I decided to relax in a hot bath and treat my skin to this product!

It is a rejuvenating, anti-ageing peel said to resurface the look of skin with a mix of azelaic, glycolic and lactic acids to exfoliate and retexture the skin.  The intended result is skin that is smooth, clear and glowing.

First impressions – given I have used a lot of masks and not necessarily a ‘peel’ I wasn’t sure what to expect.  It has no strong smell which is great and is a clear gel, smooth in texture, which for an exfoliating product I wasn’t expecting.   After cleansing my face I applied the peel and relaxed for 15minutes.   I didn’t use a lot of product as a little goes a long way.  As an acid peel I was also expecting perhaps a stinging sensation, none of that either!  I wasn’t actually sure if it was working!

After 15minutes I washed it off and again, thought, has it had any effect?  Then I dried my face and wow! the difference was evident!  It feels smooth and clear and where I can usually feel my large pores all down my nose, even my nose felt smooth!  Very impressed!

When using masks or anything exfoliating, I then go straight for serum and not my step 2 of my Clinique 3 step so as not to strip my face of all oils as that isn’t good for the skin!  As it is the evening, I applied my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, which was absorbed incredibly quickly!

I’d like to re-review this product after some regular use but I have other masks that I have open so I will revisit my opinion on this product soon.

At £75 for 50ml (price on John Lewis’ website, correct as of today), receiving 20ml of this product is a great treat to have in this £35 advent calendar!
