At The Beach - Bath & Body Works

March Empties – Everything but skincare!

Splitting the March Empties post into two parts was definitely the right thing to do!!  Following on from March Empties – Skincare post, here are the empty products that are everything but skincare!

Bath & Body Works, At The Beach Shower Gel

At The Beach - Bath & Body Works

Part of my Bath & Body Works NYC – Haul, this shower gel contains white frangipani, toasted coconut & bergamot water, aloe butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil ….. a really summery scent that  you can easily see where the name came from!

Would I repurchase?

Yes!  If Bath & Body Works was in the UK I would!

Hourglass Veil Primer

Hourglass Veil Primer

The Mineral Veil Primer is different to most other primers that I have used.  The texture is quite silky but it works really well to help minimise pores and give a great base for foundation.  It is SPF15 however given the amount of primer needed to cover the face, I can’t honestly say it would give a proper coverage for sun protection.  SPF15 is a very low protection anyway so it isn’t a selling point for me personally.  I prefer to start with an SPF50 after my moisturiser and then start with my makeup.  It is however very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Would I repurchase?

Yes.  I haven’t as I have a few primers to use already but it does help give a great finish to whatever foundation I am using and I believe it does help with foundation longevity.

The Balm – Frat Boy Blusher

The Balm - Frat Boy

I have had this blusher for so long as I have alot of miniatures in both makeup and skincare that I take away with me on trips or actually just forget about in the draw given I have a tendency to stick to my favourites!  Once I started using this, I absolutely loved it!  A subtle colour that can easily be intensified and blends beautifully.

Would I repurchase?

Yes.  Again I haven’t…I have a few blushers on the go at the moment but I do really like this so it does make my ‘Yes’ list for repurchasing in the future!

Beauty Blender Cleanser

IMG_4469

This may seem like a strange one to review as an empty but it means I can point something out about Beauty Blenders…THEY NEED TO BE CLEANED REGULARLY!  So often I watch You Tube videos or Instagram clips and the Beauty Blender or sponge being used is filthy!  I actually don’t know how people re-use them to that extent without cleaning them!  Maybe it’s just me!  Personally, I clean my Beauty Blenders after every use with an antibacterial hand soap and then after every few uses (as I don’t wear makeup every day so it isn’t used every day!) I will clean it with the blender cleanser.  It has a very subtle scent to it and it cleans the sponge thoroughly.  I use this for all types of sponges and powder puffs, not just my Beauty Blenders.

Would I repurchase?

No brainer!  I highly recommend both the liquid cleanser and the solid soap cleanser…which I also use on my brushes sometimes too!

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry hair shampoo

Dry shampoo is something I try not to use very often but sometimes…it’s just needed!  In fact I should replace this sooner rather than later as it’s super handy to have in!  The range of Batiste shampoos has a variety of scents and this one is really lovely – not too sweet!

Would I repurchase?

Yes…I need to hurry up before I’m caught out and need it one morning! Haha!

Mac Studio Fix Powder

I have probably had this a little longer than I should have however I do store all of my makeup in a draw so it is never in direct sunlight.  The Studio Fix powder foundation (my shade was NW20), I bought a couple of years ago and have used it on and off…a bit of a love, hate relationship in that sometimes I love it, sometimes, not so much.  I am however back to loving it.  I do believe that makeup is only as good as the skin underneath so since investing more in my skin (time not necessarily money!), my makeup generally has worn better.  This powder does give a buildable coverage from light to medium depending on how it is applied.  I always apply with a brush as I feel a sponge or powder puff carries too much product onto the skin and makes it look caked on!  Using a brush allows for a lighter application, which can be lightly built upon, giving a much softer finish.

Would I repurchase?

Yes.  Part way through using this, I didn’t think I would say yes to buying this again but I am now sad it is finished so I think this will be back in my collection soon!

I can’t believe it has taken so long to get to the empties post for March given we are so close to the end of April!  Have you used any of these products?  I’d love to know your thoughts!
