February Empties

Half way through March already and I’m only just getting around to posting about my empties from February!!  So here’s what I used up last month.

Indie Lee Co Q10 Toner

IMG_2082

I got this as part of the Cult Beauty x Caroline Hirons box last year and to begin with I was using so many different products in my routine I used it on and off for a while.  Initial impressions were that it smells lovely and fresh and made my skin feel lovely and soft.  More recently, after streamlining my skincare routine a little more, I used this regularly morning and night following my glycolic acid toner and before any serums.  I also used it on non-acid days, again at the traditional ‘toner’ stage.  It is alcohol free, contains Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid and the antioxidant CoQ10.  Another plus point is that it is paraben-free.   Using this on a more regular basis, my skin felt softer, smoother and I believe it helped to make my skin look generally clearer.

Would I repurchase?

Yes!  I haven’t yet as I have other products that I am using up but it’s certainly one that goes onto my Yes list!!

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water

IMG_2084

Generally speaking, this isn’t part of my ‘routine’ but it is something that is worth having in the cupboard!  I double cleanse at night if I have worn makeup or spf using a balm cleanser to remove it, then a second cleanser to clean my skin.  That said sometimes I may just need to remove my makeup to reapply in the evening or that night where (only very occasionally) I’ve gone to bed exceptionally late and using this is better than going to bed with my makeup on!  This is also great for correcting makeup mistakes on a cotton bud tip!

Would I repurchase?

Yes, I already have!

Mac Bronzing Powder

IMG_2085

This has to be one of my favourite bronzing products!  I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I prefer bronzers to be matte and this was probably one of the first that I tried that I absolutely loved…and actually managed to hit the pan on!

Would I repurchase?

Yes, I bought a replacement when I was in New York as I knew the one I had wouldn’t last much longer!

Clinique pep-start eye cream

IMG_2091

This eye cream is said to hydrate, de-puff and brighten the eye area.  I use it twice a day and it is a lovely, light cream.  It works well under makeup and doesn’t cause any problems under concealer.  My undereye area is dry but I prefer lighter eye creams for use during the day so this is ideal.  So far, I have had this in a few gift with purchase packages so I haven’t actually needed to buy one yet!!

Would I repurchase?

Yes!  I already have another one in the draw….from another gift with purchase!  😛

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate

IMG_2087

My skin has always been oily / combination but at the same time dehydrated.  Until I realised this I avoided moisturisers and oils, anything that I thought would make my skin worse.  Since I added in hydration, my skin is so much better both in how it looks and also in a reduction of oil production.  One of the newer products I have added into my routine is this Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.  This is an additional layer of hydration that goes on just before moisturiser.  It is a very lightweight gel but gives the skin a hydrating boost.  My skin does feel more hydrated when this is in my routine and I absolutely love the Moisture Surge range generally!

Would I repurchase?

Yes…this was a small travel size version of this product which I think is great when it comes to skin care.  I did buy the full size at Duty Free last month ready for this running out!

Diorshow Maximizer 3D

IMG_2095

I have tried a few lash primers in the past and have to say this one is up there with my favourites.  It is a white primer to apply before mascara for extreme volume.  Put simply, it works!  One thing I didn’t realise until I was looking on the Dior website is that this product has two uses.  The primer for lengthening lashes when applied immediately before mascara but also in the evening to condition lashes.  This is something I didn’t do as I hadn’t realised it was also a lash conditioner!  Next time!

Would I repurchase?

I would have said yes anyway, but now I will have to just to test out the conditioning claims from overnight use too!

Maybelline Faux Cils Push Up Angel Mascara

IMG_2096

I had seen quite a few reviews on this mascara, all suggesting it was great so I had to try it.  I am put off a lot of mascaras because of the chunky brushes which, as I am applying, usually end up printing mascara onto my lids!  The comb-style brush is perfect!  Not only does it help to lengthen lashes without clumps, it is also ideal for lower lashes.

Would I repurchase?

Yes.  I am pretty fussy with mascaras but this is on my favourites list.

So those are my empties items for February…have you used any of these?

Garnier Micellar is my most repurchased cleanser as it’s so quick and easy. I tend to use it as a toner after a balm or oil cleanser too and swipe over my eyes in the mornings to freshen up. So many other goodies I need to try! I haven’t seen that mascara before. I just bought the Ciaté wonderland after reading rave reviews!
