Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser – A Quick Review

My morning routine starts usually with an oil cleanser as you may have read in my previous blog Skincare Revisited – Morning Routine.

In that post, I was using the Nude Perfect Cleanse oil which smells and feels amazing.  Unfortunately, I have had to send that back to Space NK after 3 months of using it (no it’s still not empty even after using it almost every day!) but there’s an issue with it that I’ll go into on another post.

I do have the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, but I prefer to use that in the evening so I wanted to get something that I could use for a quick yet refreshing cleanser for mornings.

The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gelée Milk is one that has been on my list to try so when I was in Boots last weekend I picked this up – the fact it was on offer was great but the usual price is £7.99.

The gelée milk cleanser is a gel that when applied to the skin feels smooth and lightweight and can be applied and wiped away using cotton pads as it doesn’t need rinsing.   It contains Hyaluronic Acid which is actually quite high up on the list of ingredients.

Key benefits

• Innovative no rinse gelée milk cleanser

• Gives a vital boost of hydration whilst cleansing

• Suitable for sensitive skin.

My thoughts

Love it!  I’m quite fussy with skincare now that I know what works for my skin and what doesn’t.  Since I changed to oil based cleansers, my skin hasn’t been as oily and the overall condition of my skin has drastically improved.  This cleanser is  lovely and lightweight and personally, I like to apply it to dry skin and still use a wet flannel to remove rather than using cotton wool pads.  Purely preference as the instructions are that it doesn’t need rinsing.  It’s a great quick cleanser and smells lovely!  I thought when I first smelt this that it might irritate my eyes.  Although my skin tolerates most things that I thrown at it, my eyes are pretty sensitive when it comes to cleansers and eye makeup removers.   The ones that haven’t irritated me at all are the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm, Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm and Pixi with Caroline Hirons, Double Cleanse.  This Neautrogena Gelée milk can be added to that list!  I cannot comment on the ability to remove makeup as I don’t use it for this purpose….for that I stick to my balm cleansers.

Would I recommend?

Yes!  Without a doubt this is a lovely cleanser that I can quite believe would be suitable for even sensitive skin…based of course on how my eyes were post-use.
