Sheet masks, inspired by Korean beauty routines have become increasingly popular with all kinds of brands releasing their version….from premium brands to drugstore brands there are masks of all prices available.
The Garner Moisture Bomb Tissue mask was something I picked up when I was in Boots….at 99p I thought I’d get one to try. The mask aims to revitalise and rehydrate dull and dehydrated skin with the use of pomegranate extract, hyaluronic acid and plant serum.
A lazy Sunday and a bad headache gave me the perfect opportunity and excuse to lay in the bath and relax and put this mask to the test.
On opening the packet, I was actually expecting for a ’tissue mask’ for it to be quite a flimsy and perhaps something that would rip quite easily but actually it’s more like a fine cloth mask. It is completely soaked in serum, which was a little bit slimy in honesty! I opened the mask out which has a blue protective layer on it which needs to be removed once the mask was applied to the skin. If anything, this blue layer made the mask a little less manageable in terms of fitting it to the contours of my face but once removed, the mask is easy to smooth onto the skin. My first thought was however that the eye-holes are not really big enough. I was unable to fully apply the sheet to my eye area because of this….perhaps if I wanted to get scissors and mess about with it then this could be solved but really….I’m trying to just relax!
I left the mask on my skin for the allocated 15 minutes after which time it was still heavily soaked in serum unlike some masks that are dry by that point. The mask removes easily and there was excess product which given I was still in the bath, I just allowed it to dry onto my skin rather than remove it.
My thoughts
Despite the initial feel of this mask when it’s removed from the packaging, on my face it was quite comfortable to wear (eye holes could be better). When removed, my skin did feel hydrated and moisturised. I would usually follow a mask with more serums, moisturisers etc, but as I wasn’t going to be doing anything for the day, I decided to leave my skin alone and see how it faired during the day. 10 hours later and my skin does still feel hydrated even though I have used no other products today…..however I am about to kick in with my evening routine and go to bed!
I didn’t read the ingredients list for this product until preparing to write this post but noticed a couple of things. Firstly, it does contain parabens. Not that I want to strike up a debate as I know there’s a degree of varying opinions on the subject, but personally I choose to limit my exposure where I can. This doesn’t mean I will never use a product that contains them so please don’t get me wrong on that…I just choose to reduce my use of them on my skin so for those of you who do avoid parabens, this product does contain them. I also noticed that the sodium hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid) which is advertised as being one of the key ingredients is actually pretty low down on the ingredients list on the back of the packaging. Just an observation that has me asking how much difference it makes having that in the mask….
Let’s face it, for 99p, this mask does the job it says it does in terms of hydrating the skin. Reducing the look of fine lines isn’t something I am convinced it can do but I am no expert! Will I use it again? Possibly…..it doesn’t have me rushing out to buy another one like some products do but the immediate feel on the skin is nice none the less.
Have you used this mask? I’d love to know your thoughts 🙂

I have the green mask. I haven’t used it yet. I was a little concerned about the “tissue” aspect. But since you’ve said it’s more like a soft cloth, I need to give it a go.
Great review Rachel.
