Vital Skincare component!

Hands up if you manage to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water per day!!

Recently I posted an update on my skincare for both morning and night.  Both posts are likely to be updated again soon as I have added in some serums from ‘The Ordinary’ by Deciem.

When I lined up my skincare to use last night I happened to have my water bottle next to the products so I took this photo and posted it to Instagram because in this lineup there is one bottle that is probably the more important bottle in the photo and it’s certainly the cheapest!

So much emphasis is put on skincare and looking after your skin, removing makeup, wearing SPF and adding in plenty of topical moisture to the skin.  As much as Water is mentioned some times I think perhaps not enough.

As I said in my previous skin care post….something to note about all of this is that one of the best things you can do for your skin (and body) in general is to drink plenty of water! Dehydrated skin is different to dry skin….it needs more water!

Having a more oilier skin type (oily/combination) I have found that the more moisture I am adding to my skin, the better it is looking…yet on days where I drink plenty of water, not only does my skin feel better but I generally feel better.

I have to admit, I am not great at keeping up with this….and when you’re on the go it can be hard to remember to stay hydrated until you’re suddenly thirsty.   I read somewhere once that in the evening when you feel like snacking…you’re not actually hungry, you’re thirsty…I’ve found this to be true!  Now instead of raiding the fridge or cupboards for a snack at 10pm, I will get water with a slice of lemon and funnily enough, I’m not hungry anymore…..which is great because I’m also not going to bed having just eaten!

I suffer from Gastritis which causes acid reflux and pains in my stomach.  I was searching for what I could add to water to naturally flavour it, but that may also help my symptoms.  I now have water with lemon, lime or cucumber (which is hugely refreshing).  Another mixture I found was to have water with cucumber, mint and basil….yes basil!!  It aids digestion and it soothing to the stomach.  The thing I was surprised by was how good it tastes in water!

There’s so many ways to make plain water taste better for those who can’t stand to drink water!  Whichever way you do it….do it….drink more water!

Maybe I’m weird, but I really like water. Just plain water makes me happy! I drink a LOT of water… which means a lot of trips to the bathroom since I have a small bladder. 😛 And I agree with you – people think they’re hungry but in fact, they’re thirsty. Also, when people complain of headaches, I always ask if they’re possibly dehydrated. Often they are.
Great reminder! Such an essential component not only for skin, but for overall well being!

Fab post, I have just blogged about the Deciem products and I think they’re brilliant. So I’m having a browse to see what others have written about it. I have oily skin and find the niacinamide and retinol 2% work great. X

In my opinion it does live up to the hype. I guess it depends on your skin but I feel like my skin is gradually getting so much better now it’s in my routine. Let me know how you get on with it. I’m always impatient when I’ve decided to start using something 😂😂😂
